HTC release their latest smartphone designed to take another chunk out of the pocket PC market
The HTC TyTN Windows 5.0 mobile pocket PC due for release in late July provides its users with a mobile office solution. Offering a slide out full QWERTY keyboard and a large 2.8” touch screen display, and a jog wheel to save time when scrolling through menus, lists and long emails. It looks very similar to a previous smartphone from HTC, which is on sale in the UK as the O2 XDA mini S, i-mate K-JAM and the T-Mobile MDA Vario.
The TyTN is a quad band GSM/EDGE boasting Bluetooth v2.0 and WiFi, direct push email, internet browsing, schronisation with Microsoft Outlook, applications for PDF and ZIP files, 2 mega pixel camera for still shots and videos and a separate secondary camera for 3G video calls. It also has Windows media player, supporting AMR, AAC, WAV, WMA/WMV and MP3 files, 128MB of flash memory, and 64MB of application RAM built into the handset with a miniSD card slot providing extra room for pictures, videos and music files.
The HTC TyTN’s battery gives you up to 200 hours of standby time on GSM networks and a talk time of 4-5 hours. It will be available in black or silver colour themes.
