Samsung have released the Samsung D900 - an upgrade to the popular Samsung D600.  The D900 looks very similar to the D600 only the D900 is slightly more square.  The major difference of the two handsets is the camera upgrade from a 2 mega pixel camera on the D600 to a 3.15 mega pixel camera on the D900.

Other features include 60MB embedded memory, microSD (Transflash), Bluetooth v2.0, USB, MP3 player, TV output, document viewer (word, excel, powerpoint, PDF), and built in handsfree.  The 3.15 mega pixel camera also showcases autofocus, video, and flash.

It seems that Samsung may be following in Motorola’s RAZR footsteps, by continuing to releasing variations of a handset that has been popular and sells well.  Motorola have released several versions of the RAZR handset starting with the Motorola RAZR V3, Motorola V3i and the new Motorola KRZR K1 because it’s a good seller and people like the design. 

Samsung seem to be following suit and are sticking to the small slider style mobiles with models released to date such as the Samsung D500, Samsung D600, Samsung E370, Samsung Z400 and the more square designs of the slider in the form of the Samsung D800, Samsung E900 and the Samsung D520.  It looks like Samsung will continue with the popular design as they will soon be releasing the P200 which again is a variation of the D500.
