Sony Ericsson get shiny with the new Z610i flip phone
Wednesday, August 23, 2006
Sony Ericsson will be releasing the shiny Z610i (also known as the Z610) flip phone in Q3 this year in three different colour schemes – Airy Blue, Rose Pink and Lustre Black.
The unique selling point of the Z610i is its highly polished glossy finish, which looks similar to the forthcoming BenQ-Siemens SL91 and the Motorola KRZR K1 mobile phones, which we have recently wrote about. It seems mobile phone manufacturers are hoping that customers will be drawn to the unusual glass like shiny exteriors of the new glossy style handsets that will soon be hitting the stores. It certainly seems that people like the finish with the popularity of the LG KG800 Chocolate and Samsung E900.
The Z610i is a 3G phone with a hidden external OLED display which seems to disappear when not in use. It features Bluetooth, 2 mega pixel camera, video calling, memory stick micro support, MP3 player, RSS reader, 3D games, email client and web browser.
