T-Mobile celebrate OneWebDay along with Web n Walk

OneWebDay is a global celebration of life and culture in cyberspace in honour of the internets progress in fast becoming the primary source to communicate with one another and to find out information.

With mobile internet becoming ever more popular, T-Mobile is celebrating with some interesting facts gleaned from their Web n Walk service about the most visited sites of Web n Walk customers.

The Web n Walk internet service is the only operator-provided full internet package available to UK mobile phone users.  For a set fee of £7.50 per month on pay monthly price plans and £1 per day on pay as you go, customers can browse, blog, check email and do whatever they like on the internet without running up a high bill – though customers on pay monthly without Web n Walk should beware as data rates are among the highest in the UK without the special package.

Currently 500,000 T-Mobile handsets on contract tariffs can access Web n Walk, with this figure set to double by the end of this year.

The Mobile Data Association estimated that in July 13.2 million people used their mobile phones to access some form of internet service, showing that mobile internet use is expanding and becoming a global trend.  T-Mobile have campaigned for the Office for National Statistics to include a separate category for mobile internet usage following the ever increasing number of web-enabled mobile devices being used.
