Street Checker aims to help you decide if the T-Mobile network signal is strong enough in your area before you sign your mobile phone contract

Have you ever felt tied to a network because you’re unsure how your call coverage will be with an alternative network?  Do you stick with your current network even though you know there are cheaper deals on different networks because you don’t want the hassle of finding out what the coverage is like in your area?  If so your troubles will be over if you want to connect to T-Mobile.

T-Mobile has launched Street Checker, a service available in stores and online that allows customers to check the coverage in their three most popular postcodes before purchasing a mobile phone deal.

T-Mobile found in the test stage of Street Checker that customer satisfaction was boosted, the service improved the customer’s impression of the branch, and increased their inclination to revisit T-Mobile again by 10%.

Street Checker will give customers the confidence to buy a new phone, knowing that they will receive a good signal in the areas they go to most frequently.

All customers that enquire about buying a new mobile phone deal from T-Mobile will automatically be offered the Street Checker service.  Every customer will be offered a simple, personalised printout of network strength for their three chosen postcodes though it is based on outside coverage and indoor coverage levels may vary. In the unlikely case that the coverage isn’t strong enough in your area you will be able to bring your mobile phone back and cancel the contract within an agreed period of time.

It will be interesting to see if the other networks also start offering services similar to Street Checker to allay any concerns over their network coverage, in particular it could be an excellent boost to Three who have taken great strides in improving their network over the past few years since it’s shaky launch.
