Samsung F500
We recently told you about the Samsung F300, and now Samsung have announced its close relative the F500. Once again the F500 has two separate sides providing different functions. One side is used as a mobile phone with the other side being used for multimedia features. The screen can be tilted into an upright position so that the handset can be placed on to a flat surface allowing you to view your multimedia hands free. Your footage can be viewed in landscape or portrait mode.
The multimedia side receives digital TV transmissions via DVB-H standard, video camera, 2 mega pixel camera, audio player supporting MP3, AAC,WMA, DivX and MPEG4 to name a few. It also supports OMA and DRM media types.
It boasts Bluetooth and internal memory of 400Mb which is expandable by a further 2Gb using microSD cards.
It is yet unknown when the Samsung F500 will be released.
T-Mobile announce the SideKick 3
T-Mobile have launched the successor of the SideKick 2 which received a fashionable boost in June from TopShop (read T-Mobile SideKick II Mobile Phone - The fashionable choice? for more)
The SideKick 3 has been designed specifically for T-Mobiles Web n Walk customers, once again created in collaboration with internet software company Danger.
It features a 1.3 mega pixel digital camera with flash, 2GB of expandable memory via mini SD card, MP3 player and Bluetooth, it also boasts a track ball for easy navigation, a nice twist on most phones of this type that rely on touch screens for navigation such as the T-Mobile MDA Pro.
The SideKick 3 was due to be released in December 2006 but there is no sign of the mobile phone in the shops as of yet. Considering the fact that the new year has already begun, and the relatively sparse information about the release coming from T-Mobile it is likely to be delayed until mid January 2007 at the earliest.
