T-Mobile announce Flext 12 month mobile phone tariffs

The popularity of the 18 month Flext price plans has prompted T-Mobile to introduce them to boost it’s 12 month contract offerings.

T-Mobile will be releasing 12 month versions of their popular Flext price plans from the 1st February 2007.  T-Mobile will be axing their Relax tariffs in favour of the new 12 month Flext plans.

T-Mobiles Flext tariffs are slightly different than other standard price plans.  As with a standard price plan you are charged a set line rental each month, but instead of having a set amount of minutes and text messages each month, Flext plans give you credit like a pay as you go phone.  You can then use your credit on calls, text messages or picture messages. 

For example the new 12 month Flext 35 plan will include £120 of credit.  This is equal to 600 minutes or 1200 text messages.  You could use your £120 credit in the same way as the Relax 35 plan for a total of 500 minutes and 200 text messages.  The advantage of the Flext plan is the freedom to use your credit in whatever way suits you at that particular time.

T-Mobile will also be ditching their 18 month Flext 30 and Flext 75 price plans.

T-Mobiles 18 month Flext plans that were released several months ago have proven very popular and it’s no surprise that their plans to expand Flext into the 12 month contract arena have prompted speculation about how rival networks will react.  O2 and Orange are due to release their new mobile phone tariffs in the up and coming weeks and as no network wants to be out done by another the networks are keeping very tight lipped about their new tariff deals.  Keep checking our consumer news section for regular updates.
