If you are currently nearing the end of your Three contract and you are thinking of changing to a different network for a better deal, Three may have a surprise for you.

Three have been offering highly discounted line rental just to hang on to their existing customers.  Customers who have been threatening to leave the network have been offered the Video Talk and Text 700 tariff for as little as £6.60 per month! If you calculate the standard price including your 3 months half price line rental that Three currently offer on the Video Talk and Text £35 tariff which includes 400 minutes and 250 sms, this would result in a saving of £288.30 over your 12 month contract! It is believed that Three are bundling in their reconditioned mobile phones with its heavily discounted deals.

Three have said that they will do everything they can to keep their customers, and this includes contacting its customers nearing the end of their contracts earlier than usual to stop retailers buying them out of their current contracts.

Three have even built in T-Mobile’s Flext tariffs into their systems to offer to their existing customers who want to leave to sign up to a T-Mobile contract. Onecompare wrote back in July 2006 about the rumours surrounding Three regarding the release of their very own Flext inspired tariffs. Adding T-Mobiles Flext deals to their system could also be used for research purposes. If the Flext tariffs are a major factor for Three to keep hold of its customers it’s possible that it may prompt Three to release their own Flext style price plans.

Recently a member of the Onecompare team was contacted by Three as their contract was nearing its end. They were offered an identical copy of the Flext £35 18 month plan, which gives you £180 inclusive credit per month, for £25.26 per month. This would be a saving of £175.32 over the 18 month contract compared to the standard T-Mobile Flext £35 price plan. When the offer was refused they were given the opportunity to pass on a reference number attached to the individually tailored deal so that this deal could then be taken out by somebody else.

These deals aren’t available on request, but ‘high-quality’ customers will be offered substantially better deals than the high street stores and other mobile networks as bait to stay loyal to Three.
