A Pay and Go top up service from o2 rivals Orange’s new Reserve Tank feature.

o2 combat Orange's new overdraft facility, Reserve Tank, with their very own 'Lend Us A Quid' service. If you’ve got less than 50p on your phone, you can now lend a quid from o2 until you next top - up and they won't charge you a penny as long as you stick to the rules.

All you have to do is call 4444 free from your mobile and select the ‘Lend Us a Quid’ option. It’s free as long as you top-up £10 in the next seven calendar days and the £1 is repaid from that top-up. So as an example if you have £0 credit left and need to make an emergency call you can get o2 to credit a pound to your phone, then the next day when you top up the pound will be repaid leaving you with £9 credit.

In a welcome bit of transparency from O2 they will even text you a reminder if you have not topped back up to repay the £1 within 5 days. The penalty for not topping up within the 7 days after using the ‘Lend Us A Quid’ service is an extra 25p charge which means that on your next top up of £10 you would be left with only £8.75 credit. You are also unable to use the service again before you have paid any existing one pound credits back.

The 'Lend Us A Quid' service is available to All o2 UK and Online customers on Pay and go.
