Research conducted by Onecompare.com was tabled for an early day motion in the houses of parliament, bringing attention from a group of MP's who vow to make networks review their charges

Research from Onecompare.com looking at how often consumers exceed their monthly calls and text allowances, and how they get stung with inflated charges after passing the threshold has inspired an early day motion in the Houses of Parliament to bring the offending networks to review their charges. An early day motion is a notice from a group of MPs that they think action needs to be taken on a certain issue, serving notice that they intend to drive it forward and inviting other people to join in.

The motion, EDM 858 - Charges by Mobile Phone Operators was brought by Gregory Campbell and noted "That this House notes a recent survey by OneCompare.com which indicates that many mobile phone operators have charges that automatically, and without warning, rise considerably for contract phone users who exceed their monthly limit of inclusive text or talk minutes, in some instances by more than 100 per cent. per text or per minute; and calls upon the companies concerned to review their rates and to make all such charges clear in advances to all users. "
