New research shows just how much we use and depend on our mobiles.
Would you say you spent almost a year of your working life talking on your mobile? Well new research shows the average mobile user makes 88,518 calls, or 7,203 hours of calls during their working life!
CPP Phonesafe, a mobile phone insurance company, have just completed research into the phone usage of British mobile users. The typical mobile user will make 300 days worth of calls during their working life – naturally women are the bigger talkers. Women on average spend 2 months of their lives chatting on the phone.
The study also shows that we have on average 40 names in our contact list – but only actually call 12 of those regularly, with our partner receiving the largest number of our calls.
Two thirds of us admit that we would be completely lost without our mobile, and with the average cost of a phone being £250 we need to make sure we have the right insurance cover in case of emergencies.
Despite our massive ability to chat til the cows come home – 68% of us admit to making excuses to rid ourselves of callers. Apparently over 25% of you have said your battery is running low despite your mobile being fully charged, and running late for an appointment makes up 12% of your excuses.
More surprising statistics show that nearly 25% of mobile users answer the phone while on the toilet, and 3% of you have taken a call whilst making love!
