Last week two companies have announced special deals where customers can claim a free laptop when purchasing Broadband.

First we heard about Orange offering broadband deals through PC World. All customers taking Orange’s starter broadband package can choose to either have an EI Systems 3101 laptop for free, or choose from any laptop in store and get a minimum of £300 off. The EI Systems laptop has Windows XP, 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD and a 15.4” widescreen.

Orange’s starter package gives you a download speed of 2MB, download limit of 2GB and a wired ADSL modem for £14.99 – plus 3 months half price. The laptop is chosen in store when ordering the broadband, and can be claimed once your broadband has been activated and you have been sent a confirmation letter. The only downside to this deal is that you have to sign a two year contract for your broadband, but this is a small price to pay for a free laptop. Customers who would like to take this deal need to go to their local PC World store to sign up.

Then the very next day Carphone Warehouse announced that they too are giving away free laptops with AOL broadband packages. From September all customers who take AOL’s £19.99 broadband package will receive a Dell Inspiron laptop completely free.

The Dell Inspiron freebie laptop has Microsoft Vista Home Basic, 1GB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, Intel Celeron processor, 15.4” widescreen, and 8x DVD writer.

AOL’s broadband package gives you up to 8MB speed, 40GB download allowance, free NetGear wireless router and can also be packaged with discount voice packages. Again this is subject to a two year contract being signed. Customers who are interested can pre-register online to be notified when the deal goes live.

Both these deals are a great option for those who have been thinking about either a new broadband package or have been looking at moving from a PC to a laptop.
