5 megapixel, HSDPA, touch screen phone from LG.
LG are set to release the high end LG U990 on 3 in October, and it will be picked up by other networks shortly after. The full specification for this phone is not available yet, but so far it looks pretty impressive.
The U990 draws on the styling of the Prada and Shine, and doesn’t look a million miles away from the Apple iPhone. It has a 3 inch touch sensitive display, is 3G and has HSDPA high speed download technology.
LG have given the U990 an impressive 5 megapixel camera, and has 5 x digital zoom – strangely the zoom is controlled manually via a dial surrounding the lens. This dial can also be used to scroll through the features of the phone, for those who are unfamiliar with the touchscreen.
The video camera on this phone is also notable as it can capture videos at 120 frames per second, meaning you can playback videos in high quality slow motion. The U990 has a digital music player and an impressive 170MB of internal memory, plus expansion by microSD card.
OneCompare.com expects the LG U990 to carry the same pricing as the Nokia N95, so will probably only be available free on the higher tariffs.
