A smartphone and two music phones set for release by the end of the year.
Friday, August 31, 2007
Nokia today unveiled the Nokia long awaited N81, the smartphone with Wi-Fi and the new N-Gage platform. There will be two versions of the N81 available the standard version with microSD slot for up to 2GB of data, or the most impressive 8GB version, with an internal memory of 8GB!
Both versions will be identical in all other features, which include a good sized 2.4” screen, stereo Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and (disappointingly) a 2 megapixel camera.
The Nokia N81 will surely prove to be very popular when it is released later this year, despite the measly 2 megapixel camera.
Nokia have also announced two XpressMusic phones, a slide and a standard phone to suit music lovers everywhere. Firstly the Nokia 5610, a 3 megapixel slide phone, with a dedicated music chip, FM radio and the promise of up to 22 hours music playback!
The memory is 20MB internal, but can be expanded with a microSD card, as the 5610 is a Series 40 phone it cannot directly download music from Nokia’s Music Store, but you will be able to download tracks to your PC and transfer them across to the phone.
The other XpressMusic offering is the 5310, which is very similar to the 5610 but slightly lower in spec, but much slimmer – an impressive 9.9mm.
The Nokia 5310 comes with a 2 megapixel camera, dedicated music buttons on the side of the screen, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 18 hours of music playback.
Both the 5610 and 5310 will be available later this year on contract.
