Apple apologise for iPhone price cut
8GB version of Apple iPhone price lowered in the US to $399.
07 September 2007
8GB version of Apple iPhone price lowered in the US to $399.
Within months of being released in the US the eight-gigabyte version of the Apple iPhone has had its price dropped by $200. This price cut has angered some customers who queued up over night to get there hands on the state of the art gadget when it was released earlier this year at full price.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has offered compensation in the form of a $100 voucher to those customers who bought the iPhone at its original price. He also added "We want to do the right thing for our valued iPhone customers. We apologise for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations." The price cut coincided with the unveiling of Apples new range of iPods which are on sale in the UK and US now. The iPods include new colour schemes for the shuffle and new designs for the Nano and Classic devices. They also introduced the iPod touch which boasts a Multi-touch interface, Gorgeous 3.5-inch widescreen display, Wi-Fi web browsing and Music downloads from iTunes. Prices for the iPod touch start from £199. It looks a lot like the iPhone and here at OneCompare.com we think it will prove popular in the UK as customers eagerly await the release of the iPhone.
With this latest development in mind here at OneCompare.com we wonder if customers who have been waiting for the iPhone to be released in the UK will now turn their attention elswhere. Rival manufacturers like the Nokia N95, LG Prada and Samsung G600 are all currently available in the UK and in some cases boast slightly better specifications than the iPhone.
Why not enter our iPhone competition and become one of the first people in the UK to own an iPhone when it's released.
