Use your mobile to PayForIt
New payment system to make mobile internet purchases easier.

New payment system to make mobile internet purchases easier.
PayForIt has been devised as an alternative to payment systems such as Premium SMS. In the past customers have been confused over how much they are paying and who they can query the payments with over purchases made via their mobile phone. As all the main five networks have signed up to PayForIt the process will be the same no matter which network or handset consumers are using, making a uniform payment system.
Mobile users will be able to buy items or services of £10.00 or less via the mobile internet, all charges will be added to their mobile bill or deducted from PAYG credit. Through PayForIt customers will now be able to see an information page showing exactly what they have bought and who the purchase was through. It is hoped that this will increase consumers trust in mobile payments, and lead to less confusion and scamming.
PayForIt can be used to purchase ringtones, games, train tickets, parking fees and in the future purchases through web shops. A few big companies have signed up to PayForIt to allow customers to use the new system – companies such as EA, Multimap, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Hopefully many more companies will sign up in the future and payments through mobile phones will be much simpler and safer.
