OneCompare.com wonders if it is really worth all the hype?
There is no doubt that the Apple iPhone will be hugely popular and despite the price tag of £269.00 it will surely fly off the shelves. But is it worth all the hype and the money?
We’ll admit it is a great looking phone, and the multi-touch screen is innovative but it certainly isn’t the best thing in the market.
So here are our top ten reasons to not buy the iPhone:
- Camera is only 2 megapixels – there are plenty of 3 megapixel phones out there suach as the Sony Ericsson K800i and K810i, and even quite a few 5 megapixel offerings like the Nokia N95. And there is no flash or zoom facility on the iPhone.
- Cannot record video.
- Battery is built in so cannot be replaced.
- No 3G, internet connection only by Wi-Fi or EDGE – EDGE currently at less than 30% coverage on o2.
- Although it has an internal memory of 8GB, it is still missing a memory card slot.
- Bluetooth facility limited to just Bluetooth headsets – no stereo Bluetooth for audio output and you cannot transfer files via Bluetooth.
- No Multimedia Messaging service, or Instant Messaging.
- Cannot connect wirelessly to your computer, have to use the USB cable.
- Voice activated dialling for Handsfree operation.
- It costs £269 even if you choose the £55 tariff!
Okay we are prepared for lots of comments about why the above are not necessary, but we just thought we should point out some of the common things that the iPhone is missing.
