T-Mobile has today launched their Just SIM tariffs.
Thursday, September 27, 2007
As the name indicates Just SIM is simply just a SIM card that you would use in your existing mobile phone. T-Mobile have released Just SIM as student friendly tariffs, but they would be ideal for people who don’t want to be tied into a lengthy contract, or have changing money situations, or simply don’t want a new mobile phone.
Sim only deals are becoming more popular as they give you more inclusive minutes and text messages than deals that come bundled with a new mobile phone. There are three new Just Sim tariffs priced at £20, £30 and £40. See below for details.
*all call minutes are anytime cross network minutes, call charges once your inclusive minutes have been used are 30p for an any network call, 10p per text message.
Another bonus to taking out a Just SIM deal is that it is on a 1 month rolling contract. This means that you are not tied into a lengthy contract and allowing you to cancel your contract at anytime (you would still need to give 30 days cancellation notice).
O2 released their Simplicity SIM only deals in August, which will be direct competition with T-Mobiles Just SIM deals. Below is a comparison table comparing Simplicity and Just SIM.
The Simplicity deals on the whole seem to be slightly better value for money, apart from the Simplicity Online £35 which is beaten by the Just SIM £40 deal. Just SIM gives you an extra 2000 text messages for an extra £5 per month line rental compared to the £35 Simplicity Online tariff.
T-Mobile will be hoping their Just SIM deals will be as successful as their Flext price plans. They now have two million subscribers to Flext - the world’s first flexible contract.
