Great discounts for existing customers
Details have been leaked about o2’s new broadband venture set to launch on October 15th 2007. O2 will be offering three speeds of broadband with different pricing for new & existing customers.
| Package | Download Speed | Cost Per Month – Existing o2 Customers | Cost Per Month – New Customers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Up to 8MB | £7.50 | £17.50 |
| Premium | Up to 16MB | £10.00 | £20.00 |
| Ultimate | Up to 20MB | £15.00 | £25.00 |
O2 are promising to have a service that is easy to set up and use, and will have transparent pricing and speed. O2 will provide a UK based 24/7 customer care line that is free for all customers, and will give customers the exact speed of their line before signing up, to ensure they are put on the correct package. Customers will also benefit from 100 free web based texts each month.
All the plans will have an unlimited download limit – although a fair usage policy will be applied, details of which are unknown as yet.
Once rolled out the o2 broadband service will only cover 50% of the UK population – focussing on the urban areas. Although this will be rolled out to further areas as customer interests demands.
O2 have decided against giving the broadband package for free with contracts (like Orange did), and instead want to provide an advanced service, that is simple to set up and use, and give customers exactly what they pay for.
Please note all costs do not include phone line rental, a BT line will be required.
