3G version of the popular G600
Although this hasn’t been officially announced by Samsung, there are a few details that we do know. The Samsung G800 is basically a slightly modified version of the G600, not much has been changed as the G600 was pretty top-of-the-range phone.
The styling of the phone has changed slightly, the buttons on the front have been changed and moved lower to make room for a larger screen. And the camera is now no longer underneath the slide as with previous Samsung phones, it is located under a protective slide cover on the outer casing.
The Samsung G800 is now 3G, although it seems to be lacking a secondary videocall camera. Of course the G800 has kept the 5 megapixel camera and made it even more impressive with the addition of 3 x optical zoom and a xenon flash.
- Camera: 5 MP, 2592_1944 pixels, autofocus, video, xenon flash, 3x optical zoom
- Size: 101.5 x 52 x 18.5 mm
- Weight: 134 g
- Screen: TFT, 256K colours, 240 x 320 pixels, 2.4 inches
- Style: Slide
- Memory: 160 MB internal memory expandable by microSD
- Connection: GPRS, 3G, Bluetooth, USB and possibly HSDPA
- Media: MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA player, Stereo FM radio
- Messaging: SMS, MMS, Email
OneCompare.com doesn’t yet know how much the Samsung G800 is going to cost, and no release date has been announced – but it will hopefully be out early 2008 and should be free on the higher end tariffs.
