New version available only through 3 handsets
3 have announced this week that they are to be the first mobile network to launch Google Maps version 2. Google Maps has already proven to be very popular, and version 2 adds great new features for 3G networks.
The new version can use your mobile phone connection to work out where you are through GPS enabling you to find directions, local services or businesses through the touch of a button.
Other features include:
- Displays your internet KB usage in the corner of the screen, so you can keep a track of your data usage.
- Integrates your search results on one page, making it easy to navigate.
- Both walkers and drivers can get detailed directions.
- Provides you with a satellite view of all locations.
- Gives you easy access to details of local business found in your search area.
Google Maps is available now on the majority of 3’s handsets.
