Less confusing than the rest? You decide!
Virgin Mobile have released a new PAYG tariff this February that they are claiming is straight-forward and simple compared to other PAYG tariffs such as Stop The Clock, Favourite Place and Top Up Friday.
The tariff is called Daily Bonus and has a flat rate for calls and texts with the added bonus of free minutes and texts everyday. All calls are charged at 15 pence per minute (to UK landline and mobiles), all texts are 10 pence to other networks and 3 pence to other Virgin mobiles and voicemail is free.
The Daily Bonus kicks in once you have made five minutes of calls in a day, once you have done this you will get the next five minutes for free. After the five free minutes the rest of your minutes will be charged at the standard 15 pence per minute.
The same goes for text messages, you pay for five then get five free, then it goes back to standard rate. You can only have five free minutes and five free messages in any one day, and any free minutes you do not use will not rollover to the next day.
This tariff bears a striking similarity to Talk Talk’s old Take 5 tariff from 2007, this again gave customers five free minutes a day once they had paid for five. Take 5 was very short-lived though, suggesting it either wasn’t well received or didn’t work very well.
If you think Daily Bonus will suit you and your usage you can sign up online or over the phone, and your Daily Bonus account will be activated within 48 hours.
