T-Mobile’s interpretation is a little bit off
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Last week Ofcom went public to announce that they want all 08 numbers to be included in the allowance of minutes and messages that mobile phone contracts come with. They believe that the pricing of them is too confusing and that many customers are unaware that they will be charged extra for calling them – Ofcom would like them to be classed just like normal landline numbers.
In a rather strange move T-Mobile have announced the following:
“To make things clearer for our customers, we have aligned our 08 number charges with local and national calls to follow the latest Ofcom guidelines. These calls aren't included as part of your allowance in any of our price plans.”
So if you are with T-Mobile 0871, 0870, 0844 and 0845 numbers will cost the following to call as of July 28th 2008:
So as you can see in most cases the cost has tripled! What Ofcom will have to say about this is another matter – especially since T-Mobile appear to be claiming that they are simply following their advice!
