LG KP130
LG announce a new addition to the family.
08 July 2008
LG announce a new addition to the family.
LG have announced a new edition to there collection, a step up from the LG KP100 and a replacement for the LG KG130 released earlier last year. The LG KP130 is your standard Candy bar handset; which is easy to use and is inexpensive with a recommended retail price of £65. Although it looks similar to the old LG KG130 it has been modified and upgraded making it a must have this year.
As you can imagine for the bargain price of just £65 manufacturers/phone designers find it hard trying to cram as many new functions and new fiddly bits in for the (sub £30 Price bracket) and still being able to make the handset appealing to the customer. So don’t be expecting more from the LG KP130 other than your bog standard phone handset.
What you get for your money here is GPRS capable phone with a 1.5" 128 x 128 pixel CSTN display, MIDI polyphonic ringtones. The KP130's GPRS goes hand-in-hand with a web browser, although the small screen will prove to be somewhat limiting, but still of some use.
The other feature which suggests the LG KP130 is better than the LG KP100 is the VGA resolution digital camera but how much more useful do you think this will be? There is no way of having your pictures transferred from your handset to another device as there is no removable memory, USB port or Bluetooth. The phone does have MMS (Picture messaging) but with a 1.5 pixel camera the picture is going to be of a pretty poor standard. Most new handset now come with at least a 3-5 megapixel camera.
The LG KP130 is due for release within the next couple of days in a variety of colours (white, black & silver) on a variety of networks.
