The 3G iPhone has flown off the shelves with 1 million handsets sold in just 3 days!

The 3G iPhone is off to a flying start with Apple claiming that the 1 millionth handset flew of the shelves on Sunday, just three days after the handset was released on Friday 11th July!

Since its release on Friday the 3G iPhone has encountered nothing but problems including shortage of stock, issues affecting Apple iTunes and O2 registration system failures and delay’s. But it seems that all of these problems haven’t put customers off!

Apple have confirmed that 800 applications are available from their App Stores with 200 offered for free. Apple have also announced that 10 million applications have already been downloaded from the iPhone App Store, so it looks like new iPhone users are personalising and making good use of their new handsets!

The 3G iPhone has proved much more popular than the original iPhone which took 74 days to sell its first million handsets. With the popularity of the 3G iPhone still growing and hype still building we think the next million 3G iPhones will fly off the shelves just as quickly!
