Mobile phone of the Future could be here sooner than you think as Swansea University lands 20m contract.

Swansea University have won a £20m contract to help design phones of the future. With mobile phones already boasting special features such as built in radios, TV viewing, storing your favorite tunes and accessing the web, you may wonder what the mobile of the future has in store.

The major aim of the ‘mobile of the future’ will be to enable users to get information content they want, in any media/format, over any facilities, anytime, anywhere, and in any volume.

Future mobile phones could even be used to check alarm systems and even view what is going on through CCTV systems; you may also be able to instruct your home to turn your heating on or off!

Swansea University is hoping to develop these ‘future’ functions by the development of highly efficient fuel cells that will enable phones of the future to be viable for almost everyone.
