The long awaited Nokia N91 is finally available to order, check out some of the offers on this great music phone
The music centric mobile phone market is hotting up with one of Nokia's latest releases - a real threat to the Sony Ericsson Walkman line of phones.
So far we have had Sony Ericsson ruling the roost on music mobiles, which of course started with the ever popular Sony Ericsson W800i, followed by the more budget Sony Ericsson W550i, and the 3G member of the family the Sony Ericsson W900i. Clearly this popular line of mobile phones hasn't been forgotten about with the recently released Sony Ericsson W810i however they haven't really pushed the line any further with this upgrade.
Apart from some changes in button layout, an upgrade to quad band from tri band and EDGE high speed internet access there haven't been many major updates for the discerning mobile phone music enthusiast and this has allowed the other manufacturers to catch up and even surpass in some areas.
The Nokia N91 measures up favourably to the W810i, boasting a 2 megapixel camera as the W810i does but if we take a run down of the rest of the features we can see how Nokia's handset has improved on the W810i's featureset.
In order to provide high speed music downloads Sony Ericsson's mobile phone brought in EDGE internet access which requires a compatible carrier, however Nokia went for WiFi which is becoming more and more popular in UK homes and provides internet access as fast as your home PC making music downloads a breeze. The N91 also has 3G capabilites which is something that is once again absent in the W810i, though can be purchased in the W900i, however once again the W810i does have some improvements over this so it's a case of trading one thing for another.
The major selling point of the Nokia N91 is the fact that it has an enormous 4GB hard drive installed making it a leader in the amount of music it can store and rivalling some of the more popular iPods. The only phone currently on the market that comes close is the Samsung I300 with a 3GB hard drive, though it's launch does seem to have fizzled out despite the good storage capacity.
