Samsung unveil the worlds thinnest mobile phone - the new Samsung SGH-X820.
Tuesday, May 09, 2006
We thought we’d seen the thinnest mobile phone when the Motorola SLVR L7 and Motorola L6 were released at 11mm thick, Samsung then released the Samsung P300 at 8.9mm in thickness, then the VK VK2000 was released at 8.8mm in thickness, but Samsung have now made a mobile phone even thinner.
Samsung have unveiled the world’s thinnest phone in the form of the Samsung SGH-X820. The Samsung X820 measures just 6.9mm in profile excluding a wider section at the top of the handset where the 2 mega pixel camera is located. As you may expect the X820 is light weight, weighing in at just 66g. Other features include MP3 player, 80 MB built in storage, TV out function used to view videos and photos on your television, USB support, and Bluetooth to name a few.
The Samsung SGH-X820 has a traditional style keypad, with a 1.9” 176 x 220 pixel display capable of 262k colours. The other dimensions of the phone are 113mm x 50mm.
You can get the full technical specification for the Samsung X820, along with all of the best deals on this mobile phone and more in our Samsung X820 section.
Samsung are expecting to release the SGH-X820 firstly in Russia in June 2006, followed shortly by a release in European markets.
