Do NOT use phones2udirect! Buyers beware!
Posted on: 21/11/2006 @ 20:19

They are one of the top companies out there when it comes to ineffiencies.

I ordered a phone on contract a month ago. I received no email conformation at all for about 3 days (terrible), it was supposed to arrive next day delivery. Nothing arrived. No post, no email. I called them up, phone rings for like 25 minutes no one answers, finally like after 25-30 minutes someone answers. It happens to be that they say the order was not put under their dispatch list on their computer (********! talk about ineffiency). I was told it will be dispatched on that day and will arrive next working day. I otld them I havent received any email confirmation either. They say I will get it. Ok next day arrives, still no phone, no email either. At this stage I was looking to cancel order completely. I phones up phonestoudirect, and once again phone keeps ringing and they kept me on hold for like 30 minutes and then answer, I was absoultey furious with these idiots. They promised me it will definately arrive next day as they said they had problems with delivery dispatch and then add to that they failed to give an explantion as to why no email confrmation. Finally after so long, I get my phone and i thought to myself "absolutely terrible". Not just that, many people have raised concerns over their lack or understanding and also ineffiencies.

Imagine trying to claim cashbacks from these idiots? boy it must be like hell.

So DO NOT deal with these scums. They will annoy u like hell.

Poor customer services, poor company and ridiculous bunch of people.

Phones2udirect were removed by Onecompare when it became apparent that they started having serious issues with their call centre capacity, however we have had customers who we have helped to claim cashback successfully from Phones2udirect in the past.

Currently there is no intention of adding Phones2udirect back to Onecompare.

No problem Leo, expressing your own views and venting every so often is precisely what this forum is for!

We just wanted to clarify our position on the retailer in question.

Thanks

Nicely put, OneCompare. Let us not forget that OneCompare - unlike the rest of us who all hide behind masks as if at a Venetian Ball and are able to get up to the same sort of mischief under the cloak of anonymity - can be served with a libel writ; so he has to be careful with his wording.

(And you have to admire the way he never misses a trick when it comes to finding an opportunity to insert a plug for the Customer Support that this site - unlike others - provides!)

I think everybody who was not already aware of it will now get the message, loud and clear, about Phones2U and its attitude towards paying cashbacks. angry.gif

It’s even been removed from the site of one of OneCompare’s particularly notorious rivals which is more renowned for banning customers who ask embarrassing questions than it is for banning fee-paying retailers no matter what they get up to. (Though cynics might speculate as to whether that was because its webmaster experienced as much trouble as its customers when it came to extracting cash due from Phones2U.)

“...expressing your own views and venting every so often is precisely what this forum is for!”

While you’re here, OneCompare (nice to see you again, Boss; was beginning o wonder if you were away on holiday) could you provide a lamppost here for LTJ’s dog? Not just for venting on: it would also provide LTJ with something robust to lash the dog to, when somebody mentions the M-word.

The bad news is that Phones2udirect have gone into liquidation so there's nothing much left to do.

This is following the trend from previous Mobile phone dealers like Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd. (trading as The Mobile Outlet), Simply Communications UK Ltd. (trading as Simply 3G), Click Mobile Ltd., Mobile Rainbow (about to call creditors' meeting), Express Mobiles, Dial a Mobile Ltd. (trading as Mobile Connections), Mobile City Telecommunications, Esus Ltd (trading as Easy Mobile), Palm Communications, Just 3G, Forward Cellular, MobileClub7.com, Mobile Affiliates Ltd. (trading as Coolnewmobile and Phones2yourdoor), Mobile Media Systems Ltd. (trading as Phoneboxdirect)

This is an unfair situation where innocent consumers have been conned by this unscrupulous companies that were acting with the blessing of the Telephone Networks.

A group of conned consumers are trying to get together for a class action against the networks to try to claim the money they are owed. If you would like to join them feel free to email them at:

cashback_victims@yahoo.co.uk

or

phonestoudirect.classaction@yahoo.co.uk

You don't have to be a Phones2udirect victim to contact this group, anyone affected by a Mobile phone cashback scam, like Phoneboxdirect Coolnewmobile Simply3g or The Mobile Outlet can join the group.

To attempt action against the networks on an individual basis would be high-risk and costly. Clearly, in the event of litigation success only those consumers directly participating in the class actions would retrieve their cashback entitlements and costs. Anyone not participating in any action would not recover any of their cashback as a result of this.
