e2save
Posted on: 16/03/2008 @ 16:51

When I ordered a mobile telephone through e2save, I changed my mind about the model I wanted after I had given my card details. I explained that I wanted to re-think my options and that was agreed. Next thing I knew, the telephone arrived (unwanted). I have called them 18 times since (held in a long queue for &quot;customer service&quot; who don't answer) and have written asking for a return label to send it back but have not had one. They debited my card for the cost of mailing the unwanted telephone - then tried to pursue me through debt collectors for the telephone! Finally the Trading Standards Department were involved and apparently this is a favourite strategy for e2save. They send telephones anyway, and you have no means of returning the item if it isn't what you wanted. Think a lot before joining them.angry.gif

I can understand that this is a very frustrating matter, but why didn't you just refuse delivery of the phone if you had cancelled the order?

You could have returned the phone by special delivery(so you had proof of posting) to the address that is on their website, if you could not get an answer from customer services?

Did you try the sales line number if you couldn't get through to customer services? Or did you try to email them?

If you placed your order through OneCompare, they will be able to help you regarding what has happened.

I ordered a phone from E2Save a few months ago, and they didn't charge me for delivery, so you might want to see why they have charged you, when they do free delivery.

I hope you get this sorted out ASAP. smiley.gif

thank you for replying. Yes, at the end of the first conversation I made it absolutely clear that I didn't want to go ahead with the order.
I didn't realise what was in the recorded delivery package until I opened it!
They charged me £5 for postage.
yes, I called their "customer service" line eighteen - yes, 18 - times! Each time I was simply caught in a loop that said how important I was and would I wait for a bit longer (at a premium rate!!)
There is no email address that I can find. If you know one, do tell me!
Thanks again

sorry, I just realised you said "sales line" in place of "customer Service". Yes, I did that too - they said I would be called back and - don't be surprised - they didn't! (several times).

They seem to have removed the email facility from the contact us section of the website, but I think it is sales@e2save.com.

I had a quick look in my account area and I can find any contact info there Im afraid. But it does say in the returns area to speak to sales on 0800 049 60 60 if you want to return your handset so they should have helped you.

Again hope you get this resolved soon.

Well it has dragged on for six months so I expect it will take the big guns from the Trading Standards before they refund what was charged for postage and the numerous recorded delivery letters I sent them...and all the telephone calls! They really are appalling in my view and I would never recommend them. But I am truly grateful for the care you took to look for the details for me. Thank you!

A little after thought!

I don't know whether it would be worth it or not but you could look into pursuing this through money claims online if they are with holding money from you.

You could also ask for a recording of your telephone conversation, that would prove that you cancelled the deal.

an excellent suggestion - thank you. I did in fact keep a recording of the sales man when he told me he didn't know why it had been sent (I contacted him as soon as it arrived).. I believe him, actually; I think it's a thing the company does to increase "sales" and frighten people into accepting goods they've thought better of (that's what Trading Standards say, anyway).
I will pursue the idea of the online debt collection thing - thank you.

the worst thing is that they TOTALLY ignore all correspondence - recorded delivery, the lot. They are completely impervious. They simply don't care....they depend totally on intimidating customers, apparently.

Beware of e2save
Posted on: 22/04/2008 @ 14:42

Beware E2save future customers, especially when you sign up for offers called 'price-match'. This literally means that your contract is specially designed to trick you into losing your cashback.

My experience was the cashback was not only designed so differently from the standard on you see on their website but:

There is a line in contract sent to me via email saying: Please send each claim by recorded delivery within 1 month of the date
of each of your network airtime bills...and also...'within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date for your claim'.

You think that's clear enough, but it's not. What they mean by this the within 1 month of the connection time, meaning way ahead of the deadline i had in my mind. Therefore I lost not only that cashback but all cashback after that. £230 pounds, stupid me anyway to let them trick me.

Just a few line to warn you off.

Beware of e2save!!!
Posted on: 22/04/2008 @ 14:52

Just now when bitterness has faded in me, i look back at the whole experience and realise that e2save is simply unwisely chosing a second best way of doing business. By the end of the day, it cost me 230 pounds for a year of lots of calls and messages. That's not too bad. The thing is the firm's image in my minds and a number other customers is not the best you can get while what they get from me was not extravagant.

I was talking on the phone with a team member from loyalty department at carphonewarehouse about my other contract with them(whenever you renew or terminate a contract, you will talk to this team), the man claimed that carphonewarehouse got a lot of complaints on cashback policies and now committed to pay cashback whenever customers is ready to do so (unlike e2save). Apparently, two brothers from the same family are having quite different views in doing business. From a personal perspective, i will never go back to e2save, that's for sure.

I ordered a new soul silver on an 18mth contract on the 22/5/08 the phone came as promised the next day, But as i had ordered this phone as gift for my wife it was no longer wanted by her so i sent it back. E2SAVE got the phone back on the 27/5/08 they advised me to cancel my direct debit which was done. Now i have been receiving letters from o2 saying that i have not been paying my bill. After contacting them to say i have sent the phone back they said to contact e2save to make sure that they had cancelled the contract..they hadn't. Now 6weeks later i am still getting letters from 02 about the bill for a phone that doesn't exist and now they are threatening me with debt collectors. E2save are a complete JOKE these idiots need a lesson in customer care and after sales service. Despite phone calls to carphone warehouse, o2, and e2save i am still being billed, All because e2save haven't cancelled the contract.
I am now seeking professional help on this matter from a solicitor.
You have been warned. Don't deal with these people.

Hi,
Many thanks for the offer of help on this, But as of this morning 02/07/08 i have been assured by 02 that this matter has been dealt with. I am expecting an amended bill within the next few days from 02 saying that the balance is £0.00 if this is the case then that will be the end of the matter. However if i get anymore problems regarding this then i will post an update on this site.
Just for the record, The phone was purchased direct from e2save's main website.
Many thanks again for the offer of help.
Regards,
Mike. smiley.gif
