The Samsung Galaxy Y is the entry level Galaxy smartphone. The Y forms part of Samsung's new smartphone naming convention, which consists of five categories: S (Super Smart) is for the very high–end smartphones, R (Refined) is for high–end, W (Wonder) is for upper mid–range, M (Magical) is for mid–range smartphones and Y (Young) is for entry level smartphones.
