We'll update this section soon once we get our hands on the newest iPhone family members! iPhone 11 Design: On the front, the iPhone 11 still carries a 6.1-inch display with the familiar Retina image sharpness of 326 pixels per inch (resolution: 1792x828 pixels). The frame is - unlike the Pro models - not made of stainless steel, but of aluminum. Saying that, at 194 grams, it's not a lightweight so you're not exactly saving much in terms of the handfeel either. As usual, Apple uses the term "Retina" or "Liquid Retina" display for screen technology - or what other manufacturers call now OLED. There is no OLED here though in the standard 11. For comparison, the iPhone 11 Pro gets a 5.8-inch OLED screen, the iPhone 11 Pro Max a 6.5-inch OLED screen. The brightness of these screens is about 625 candelas per square metre; the Pro models radiate with 800 candelas so much stronger and even have a particularly bright mode of 1,200 candelas for high-contrast content. Again, the stripped-back standard 11 model lacks some significant functions. In our hands-on practice test, the somewhat lower brightness compared to the Pro models was quite visible. The lower contrast, however, is not noticeable at cursory viewing: because the colours are very strong. And the sharpness is clearly higher with the Pro models with 458 ppi, but in the practice test it was absolutely sufficient for most users. We didn't even see any coarse pixels showing, so for most users to be totally honest the standard 11's screen should be fine. iPhone Xs In 2018, Apple launched three new smartphones: these successor models of the iPhone X have some innovations and improvements over the predecessor (as is to be expected). Most noticeable is that the size has changed: the formerly largest iPhone (X at 5.8 inches) is now pretty much the smallest generation of the new iPhones... With a screen size of 5.8 inches, the iPhone XS is one of the larger smartphones currently available, matching the size of its predecessor the X. Only the iPhone XS Max is larger: The iPhone XS Max is the largest phone with a 6.5-inch screen diagonal that Apple has ever brought to the market. The two flagships of Apple feature 458 ppi - an even better display than the iPhone X. Further changes to the previous model: Power supply: up to 30 minutes (XS) or 1.5 hours (XS Max) Longer battery life than the iPhone X. New CPU generation: the A12 Bionic processor is even faster Face recognition: very fast Face ID Camera: Smart HDR provides better images in backlight iPhone XR The iPhone XR complies with its technical software one-to-one models XS and XS Max. The slightly lower price compared to the other models is explained in the resolution of the LCD screen and in the camera. T he iPhone XR has a screen diagonal of 6.1 inches, with a pixel density of 326 ppi is lower than the XS and XS Max. This is noticeable in the sharpness of the display. In addition, this smartphone has only a camera lens and no dual camera. If you can live with the two drawbacks, get the iPhone XR - a cheaper smartphone, which is still technically up to date. 2. Features of the iPhone X. The "X" - 2017's top of the range iPhone - is still very popular: so you might not even need to buy the latest iPhone model as this one is still pretty good (and much, much cheaper). The only problem is that Apple craftily decided to stop making it. The iPhone X stands out significantly from the other iPhone models bcause of its hardware... the device uses the modern OLED display technology, which in combination with HDR reproduces particularly strong colours and contrasts. With HDR 10 and Dolby Vision, the display also meets current home theatre and entertainment technology standards. The built-in dual camera is already used in the iPhone 8, but the iPhone X is perfected with an optical image stabiliser, which enhances the quality of photos and videos. The function of face recognition - called Apple FaceID - was used for the first time with the iPhone X in Apple's smartphone range. This unlocks the device via face recognition, quite obviously. Only the back of aluminum is replaced by extra-strong glass. In addition, the iPhone 8 with Qi technology allows wireless battery charging. Specifically, iPhone 8 is characterised by the following features: Retina HD display with True Tone technology for extra large colour space 4.7 inches (1334 x 750 pixels) and 5.5 inches (1920 x 1080 pixels) 4K videos with 60 frames/second ready Capacity: 64 and 256 gigabytes available Processor: A11 Bionic chip with 64 bit and integrated M11 motion co-processor The direct predecessor iPhone 7 model differs here, as Apple have generously given the "8" an improved display with True Tone technology and a more powerful processor, including increased graphics performance again over the previous model. iPhone 8 iPhone 8 Plus iPhone X Colours Gold, Silver, Space Gray Gold, Silver, Space Gray Silver, Space Gray Display 4.7"1.334 x 750 Pixels326 ppi 5.5"1.920 x 1.080 Pixels401 ppi 5.8"2.436 x 1.125 Pixels458 ppi CPU Apple A11,M11 Co-Processor Apple A11,M11 Co-Processor Apple A11, M11 Co-Processor Capacities 64 GB / 256 GB 64 GB / 256 GB 64 GB / 256 GB Main camera 12 Megapixels,f/1.8 aperture,5x digital Zoom 12 Megapixels,f/1.8, f/2.8 aperture,10x digital Zoom,Opitcal Zoom,Portrait mode 12 Megapixels,f/1.8, f/2.8 aperture,10x digital Zoom,Optical Zoom,Portait mode Front camera 7 Megapixels,f/2.2,1.080 Pixel Video 7 Megapixels, f/2.2, 1.080 Pixel Video 7 Megapixels,f/2.2,1.080 Pixel Video Video details 4K -24/30/60 FPS,1.080 Pixels,Slow Motion ,240 FPS 4K -24/30/60 FPS,1.080 Pixels,Slow Motion ,240 FPS 4K -24/30/60 FPS,1.080 Pixels,Slow Motion ,240 FPS Biometrics Touch ID Touch ID FaceID Water Ingress rating IP 67 IP 67 IP 67 Weight 148 g 202 g 174 g 4. About the cameras The superior camera quality of the Apple iPhone contributed essentially to the success that it had in earlier years, replacing older brands like Nokia. All models that came out either during the 2017 or 2018 models feature a 12 megapixel camera that captures 4K and 1080p video at 30 or 60 frames per second (FPS). The iPhone 8 Plus and the X and XS models are equipped with optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. In the iPhone 8, however, there is only one main camera with digital zoom, while the iPhone XR has a fivefold optical zoom. iPad cellular: If you are looking for iPad contract deals (for their Wi-Fi + Cellular models) then oneCompare has your back.
