Huawei contract deals: What you need to know Believe it or not, Huawei launched its first mobile phone all the way back in 2004. With over 140,000 employees, the company is today considered one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world - a pretty incredible feat given that you probably have only heard of them within the last 3 or 4 years. Initially, sales were limited only to networks Vodafone and EE in the UK. However, the combination of elegant looks and the latest technology has quickly made Huawei a popular mobile phone manufacturer in the mid-price segment, with the result that marketing is now taking place under its own company name as well (they also still market themselves under the Honor sub-brand, which is slightly more high-end). With the large number of Huawei models, it can be difficult to keep track. We are going to therefore introduce you to the most common models here: Huawei Mate The models of the Mate series are among the flagships of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. These mobile phones are equipped with the latest technology and are impressive above all by the superquick operating speed. Current models in the Mate range are the Mate 20 Lite , the regular Mate 20 the Mate 20 Pro. Shortly, the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will be launched to the UK. So, high-end devices are to be found within the Mate series. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro scores with a crystal clear IPS panel with 6 inches and a high-performance CPU-GPU combo that can handle even the latest and most demanding gaming apps. The Mate 20 X is the current range topper, and has some impressive features like being 5G ready. In addition there is a high-quality dual camera by Leica; countless other features and a durable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. Y Series Entry-level cheaper models are generally to be found in the Y-series. The housings of the devices are solidly processed and fast data connections like LTE are not uncommon here. However, the quality of the displays, cameras and hardware components is somewhat lacking compared to high-end models. Of particular note is the Huawei Y6 II (2019) with good pixel density, sufficient memory and 13 megapixel camera for a very low monthly contract price. Honor range The Honor View 10 is impressive; its biggest selling point is the Kirin 970 chipset and some impressive AI capabilities. The CPU has a built-in NPU, as Huawei call it, which stands for Neural Network Processing Unit. This artificial intelligence permanently analyses your usage behaviour and learns from it. So resources are distributed better or adapted to your behaviour. Apps start faster, because the phone already knows that you would open them - clever, eh? Other features include face recognition as well as a Kirin-accelerated translation engine. The phone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory available. On the back, a 20 MP and a 16 MP camera ensure sharp images, while the front cam shoots selfies with a resolution of 13 MP. In a nutshell: the View 10 is the cheaper, slightly older version. You can now get a monthly contract on the Honor View 20. The Pro version of the Honor 20 is perhaps worthy of your consideration as well.
