You may not have heard of Oppo until recently, but they're making waves in other parts of the world so it was inevitable that they'd come to the UK before long. Oppo launched its flagship smartphone, the Oppo Reno – and its big, powerful sibling, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom recently to a fair amount of fanfare. But for anyone finding these flagships a bit too pricey for their taste, Oppo has now announced a mid-range model called the Oppo Reno Z. A quick intro... When it comes to mobile phones from Chinese companies, some UK consumers were until recently rather skeptical. OPPO is the name of the latest rising star from the land of Confucius that has also made a name for itself internationally since the beginning of 2016. Founded in 2004, the manufacturer was known for a long time for its universal DVD and Blu-ray players, in which the regional code could be switched. In 2008, OPPO finally entered the mobile phone market and, well, haven't looked back since. The Oppo Reno Z functions as an affordable version of the regular Oppo Reno. Oppo doesn't necessarily link the two in its announcement, but take a close look and you can see that the Reno Z has a lot in common with its pre-existing siblings. Think of it like the equivalent of the Galaxy S10e - slightly less features, much less price. Interested in finding out more? Be sure to read a review of the Reno Z here.
