Samsung contract deals: What you need to know
In the UK, there are a wide variety of pay monthly contracts and deals for all Samsung Galaxy phones, across a wide range of price-points. From the entry-level models for first-time users, to the "S" high-end versions for tech supremos, finding the right device for your budget and needs is easy - whether that's on pay monthly contract or Sim-free.
Since 2009, the South Korean manufacturer has launched more than 100 different devices to the UK market.
A common factor among them, is the operating system - Android - as nearly all of these models are designated with the name "Galaxy" (though you'll also find some Windows O/S devices that were available in the past but are out of production now).
Here's what each of the letters means, for example the "S" in "S23":
- "S" - high-end, pricier smartphones with many features

- "Y" - aimed at the young persons & budget markets. This has since been replaced by the "J" range.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Contract Deals (2023)
Samsung's Galaxy S22 series consists of three devices: the standard Galaxy S22, the Plus and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. All are made from aluminum with an IP68 water and dust rating.
The standard S22 features a 6.1-inch Full HD display, while the S22+ and Ultra boast 6.8-inch QHD+ screens with wide color gamut and 120Hz refresh rate.

Galaxy S22 design basics
Samsung's Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra all share a similar design. Each includes an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass rear protection as well as IP68 water and dust certification to guarantee their resistance against external elements.
The smaller Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus both boast 6.1-inch displays, while the larger Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts a 6.8-inch panel. All three screens boast Full HD+ resolution with support for HDR10+ and an adjustable refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz.

In contrast, the S22 Ultra uses Adaptive Pixel technology to combine photos taken with both wide-angle and telephoto lenses for a more detailed picture even under low light conditions.

About the Galaxy "A" range
The Samsung Galaxy A-line is the successor of the J series, and a consequence of various complaints to make the product lines of Samsung clearer and easier to understand.
The new "A" smartphones have been available since 2017 and are popular due to very good price-performance ratios, and compact dimensions. Just like the more premium models from the Galaxy S series, the Samsung A phones are made of robust Gorilla glass in combination with aluminium. In fact, some people even moot that "A" stands for Aluminium...!
Every year, an improved edition of the A Series comes to market. The range first launched back in 2016-2017 with the Samsung Galaxy A3.
What O/S does Samsung Galaxy use?
Most Samsung smartphones have Google's Android operating system installed, or specifically a derivative of it.
Occasionally models can be found that are pre-installed with Windows, for example the Windows Omnia 7. In addition, Samsung made - all the way back in 2009 - an attempt to develop its own operating system: Bada runs today only on a few outdated mobile phones, since the idea was shelved and its popularity has reduced every year since.
